An Investment Organization Connects Contract Approval, Signing, and Filing
Cloudwell built a contract workflow that brings approvals, DocuSign signatures, and executed documents together in SharePoint.
Challenge
A large US investment organization needed to replace a deprecated SharePoint contract application. Template-based permissions had become difficult to manage, important contract metadata was buried in text, and signed documents did not automatically return from DocuSign. Staff needed a reliable record from request through execution.
Solution
Cloudwell built a SharePoint-based contract management application with Power Automate approval routes for department reviewers, legal, and executive approval where required. Azure Document Intelligence extracted metadata, while document-level permissions controlled access. The DocuSign integration sent contracts for signature and returned executed PDFs to the same SharePoint record with an activity log.
Results
- Signed contracts return to SharePoint instead of relying on manual filing.
- Structured columns and content types make contract information available for reporting and Excel export.
- Staff can follow approvals, signature activity, and the final document in one place.
